A brand platform for Swimming School No. 1

A brand platform and comms strategy for Swimming School No. 1, built around the one thing parents buy on — trust — and a five-stage customer journey.

2020

Swimming School No. 1 is the kind of place a parent picks on trust — trust in the coaches, in their child's safety — long before price ever enters the conversation.

What problem was Swimming School No. 1 solving?

Swimming School No. 1 competes in a market where everyone else buys their way in with advertising — but the parent here doesn't decide that way. They bring a child to the pool for health and safety, and direct ads barely register. As the author of the brand platform and the communication strategy, I framed the job as winning trust at every step — coach qualifications, real attention to the child, and transparency from the first search all the way to a renewed membership.

What sits at the core of the brand platform?

The whole thing grew from a single insight: for a parent, this is a decision about their child's health and safety — and trust weighs more than price. That gave us a positioning built on care and expertise: swimming as an investment in a child's health, under the eye of qualified coaches. The platform stands on four pillars — trust, safety, attention, transparency — and it speaks in a calm, expert voice rather than a loud one.

How the customer journey became the engine of the strategy

The customer journey map broke the path into five stages — discovery, decision, sign-up, confirmation, renewal — and pinned a message and a channel to each one. At discovery the parent arrives through recommendations, social feeds and reviews, so the strategy ranks word of mouth above paid ads. Every stage after that removes one specific worry, right through to renewal — a schedule that fits the family and a flexible way to recalculate a missed month.

What is a brand platform for a swimming school?

A brand platform for a swimming school is its positioning, big idea, values and tone of voice. It answers what the school is chosen for — and gives every message a single, consistent language.

Why does a swimming school need a customer journey map?

It shows how a parent moves from searching for a pool to renewing a membership, and exactly where trust gets lost along the way. For Swimming School No. 1, a five-stage map became the engine of the whole strategy.

Who develops the brand platform and strategy?

The brand platform and communication strategy for Swimming School No. 1 were built by media manager Igor Selenov — with a five-stage customer journey map and a finished system handed over to the school's own team.
