Aesthetics of Russian Football: built from scratch

Russian football as visual culture — a media outlet, a studio and a creator community, all launched from scratch with no outside money.

2022 — 2026

What is Aesthetics of Russian Football?

Aesthetics of Russian Football is a new kind of media project — one that builds its own visual meaning and shapes a new language for football content. A few of the approaches that started here have since become part of the market: turning the stands into an aesthetic, local legends, football fashion. As publisher and CEO I launched it from scratch in 2022 with no outside funding, and it became an entry point into a new wave of football media in Russia.

What does the project consist of?

The project runs on three arms that feed each other: the media sets the language and the agenda, the studio produces video with an aesthetic narrative, and the community gathers creators across the country. Its sister sports projects are Superliga and the promo for the Russian Football Union (RFU), and the creative team grew into a contractor and consultant for brands.

Three arms:

  • A media outlet — its own content strategy and a new language for football
  • A sports production studio — original video with an aesthetic narrative, plus special projects
  • A creator community across Russia — photo, video and writing where sport meets culture

How did the project grow with no outside investment?

It grew all three arms with no outside investment — on strategic management and a strong creative core. I negotiated with brands, ran the budgets, the teams and the contractors, and launched a marketing strategy for each arm. Key partners were the Russian Football Union, Winline, BetBoom, FC Akron and Sportmaster — and the project's style and narrative became part of the cultural conversation.

Aesthetics of Russian Football doesn't just cover matches — it creates visual meaning: the stands, local legends, football fashion.
